App Privacy Policy
Last updated: Aug 30, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Lasso Products, Inc. ("Lasso," "we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Lasso Alarm Clock iOS application (the "Application" or "App"). This policy applies only to the Application. Use of our Shopify website is governed by a separate privacy policy.
1. Information We Collect and Store During Application Use
When you use the Application, we collect and store the following information on our servers. By default, none of this information is tied to your name, email address or other personally identifying details.
- User ID: When you first launch the Application, a random universally unique identifier (UUID) is generated and stored in your iPhone's Keychain. This identifier is associated with your use of the Application but does not, by itself, identify you personally.
- Device ID: When you scan your Lasso hardware device for the first time, the Application transmits the device's serial number to our servers and associates it with your User ID.
- Seat count: Each device is associated with a number of available seats, adjusted when you complete or are refunded for an in-app purchase.
- Transaction IDs: When you complete an in-app purchase, we receive a signed transaction record from Apple. The only value we extract and store from this record is the transaction ID, which we use to validate the purchase.
2. Information We Collect and Store During a Customer Support Request
When you contact us for support, or any other reason, you will likely be sharing information such as your email address, social media handle, name and any other information you choose to include in the message.
When you email us from the Help menu inside of the App, a debug log is included as an attachment to your email. This text file helps us diagnose and fix issues you may be experiencing with the App. You may remove the attached file prior to sending your email, although this may make it more difficult for us to resolve your issues. This file may contain the following information:
- User ID and Device ID as outlined in Section 1
- Your iPhone Model, iOS version and App version
- Your current app settings, excluding the items outlined in Section 3
- A timestamped log of events, such as when alarms were scheduled or when they fired, excluding the items outlined in Section 3
If you have purchased a device through our Shopify website or the Shop app, it is possible for us to associate the information shared in your support communications with the information you provided at the time of purchase, including your name, email address, and shipping or billing address.
3. Information We Do Not Collect
Certain app features and functionality rely on information that is stored locally on your iPhone. The following information is never collected by us:
- Location: When you set up and use the location-based Emergency Bypass feature, the app uses Apple’s Location APIs to read and store your current location. This location data is stored locally on your iPhone and is never shared with us.
- Motion and Fitness: When you use the step-counting Emergency Bypass feature, the app uses Apple’s Motion & Fitness APIs to read the number of steps you have walked. This data is stored in short-term memory and is erased once you navigate away from the Emergency Bypass screen.
- Screen Time: When you grant the App Screen Time authorization, the app uses Apple’s Screen Time API to prevent you from deleting the app while your alarm is ringing. We do not collect, use, or store any Screen Time data, aside from logging whether or not the feature is turned on.
- Name and Note: You have the option to enter your name for a personalized greeting when you stop your alarms. You also have the option to attach a "Note" to your alarms, which is presented to you when you stop your alarms. Both of these are stored locally on your iPhone and are never shared with us.
4. In-App Purchases
In-app purchases are transactions between you and Apple, processed through the App Store. Lasso does not receive your payment information, billing address, or other personal details from these transactions. As described in Section 1, we receive only a signed transaction record from Apple and store only the transaction ID.
5. Third-Party Services
The Application uses the following third-party services, which collect and store information according to their own privacy policies:
- Google Firebase Analytics collects general usage information such as app version, geographic region, and aggregate user activity. See Google's Privacy & Terms and Firebase Privacy Information for details.
- Google Firebase Crashlytics collects crash reports, including stack traces and device state at the time of a crash, to help us diagnose and fix issues. See Firebase Privacy Information for details.
- Apple may collect usage and diagnostic information from your device in accordance with your iOS settings and Apple's Privacy Policy.
6. How We Use Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Operate, maintain, and improve the Application;
- Validate device access and manage seat allocations;
- Process and verify in-app purchases;
- Respond to support requests and communicate with you; and
- Diagnose technical issues and improve performance.
7. Data Sharing
We do not sell your information. We may share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- With service providers who help us operate the Application (such as Google Firebase), subject to their own privacy practices;
- When required by law, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Lasso or others; or
- In connection with a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case we will provide notice of any change in how your information is handled.
8. Data Retention
We retain the information described in Section 1 for as long as your iPhone remains paired to your Lasso device. Support communications are retained indefinitely, although you may delete, or request deletion of, your information as outlined in Section 9.
9. Your Rights and Choices
You have the ability to limit some of the information that the App has access to by denying authorization requests, or revoking them in your iPhone's Settings > Apps > Lasso after they have been authorized. Note that doing so may affect the functionality of the App. You have the ability to remove all Lasso-associated data stored on your phone by deleting the App.
You have the right to request deletion of any data we have associated with you. You may also contact us to ask questions about this policy or request information about the data that we have that is associated with you.
10. Children's Privacy
The Application is not intended for use by children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us so we can address it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will provide notice through the Application or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Application following the effective date of any such changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
12. Contact Information
